Ismael Diarra started his professional career in 2011 with Barry Callebaut in the cocoa and chocolate industry. He firstly joined the supply chain department in Ivory Coast, being responsible for the export of semi-finished cocoa products. After one year in Ivory Coast, he moved to Switzerland, Zurich to join the global supply chain team, where he was coordinating the production planning for 3 factories in West Africa (Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroun) and later joined the Controlling department to conduct various projects. Back in Ivory Coast in 2013, he was offered the opportunity to manage the daily trading activities reporting to the Head of Africa. His main duties were including: daily price calculations, deblocage, market reports, hedging and preparation of various presentations and analysis for the management. In 2014 he moved to Louis Dreyfus Company in Ivory Coast firstly as Business Developer and later as vegetable oils trader. He highly contributed to grow the palm trading business in West Africa, developing an origination program in Ivory Coast as well as managing the customer portfolio in West Africa. He also managed the construction of a 5,000 metric ton vegetable oil storage terminal in the main port of Abidjan and acting as commercial asset manager.
Ismael hold a Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering degree from the Polytechnic National Felix Houphouet Boigny Institute of Cote D’Ivoire.
Ismael likes watching formula 1 and football. He also likes to play billiards.
